On the 23rd March 2021 one of the largest cargo ships ever built, the Ever Given wedged itself into the banks of the Suez Canal blocking $9.6bn of trade passing through this trade thoroughfare. Six days later, tugs from the world over pulled her free after the bow had literally been dug out of the sand bank.
